A SISTERS Celebration!

I’ve long wanted to organize a reading from this beautiful book: SISTERS: An Anthology, edited by Jan Freeman, Emily Wojcik, and Deborah Bull, from Paris Press. I’m delighted to say that it’s happening this Tuesday, March 8, in honor of International Women’s Day. A variety of extraordinary women from the Muscatine area, who hail from all walks of life—city government, small business owners, arts leaders, religious leaders, professional leaders, college administrators and college students—are coming together to read their favorite selections from this daring and beautiful book. There will be wine, there will be delicious treats, but most of all there will be a celebration of the special bonds of sisterhood, a time of community and conviviality and mentorship and joy, to honor all that women add to the vibrancy and health of this community. I can’t wait.

Where: Muscatine History and Industry Center (the Button Museum), 117 2d Street, Muscatine, IA

When: Tuesday, March 8, 5:00 – 8:00 pm

Who: You. And your sisters, and your mom, and your mother-in-law, and your aunts, your cousins, your neighbors, your friends. See you there.

P.S. On the Paris Press website, you can hear audio of me reading my story from the collection, “A Lesson in Manners.” That is, if you want.
